Despite being the smallest of the Royal parks, the green triangle of woodland between Piccadilly and Constitution Hill covers 40 acres of parkland and is a welcome haven of tranquillity in a busy city centre. Green Park is where you can watch the Royal Gun salutes on state occasions such as the Queen’s Birthday, the state opening of Parliament and other state visits. Although the last of these have already taken place last month, if it is pomp and circumstance you are looking for you can head over to Buckingham palace next door and watch the changing of the guard most mornings at 11.30.
The Royal Park most in the headlines at the moment is of course Hyde Park which is hosting its annual Winter Wonderland however there are also other Parks which are making an effort over the festive period such as Richmond park. Here you can enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride complete with blanket and hot refreshments to ward off the chill in the largest of the Royal parks. Very much like the carriage rides in central park in New York these also include a visit to the working stables at holly lodge to see the beautiful shire horses who are responsible for all the grass mowing and bracken rolling in the parks! This is a wonderfully romantic date you can enjoy with your chosen London escort and a day our ladies will be delighted to spend with you. Any of our central London escorts would be ideal although we do have plenty of Richmond escorts who are perhaps a little closer.
The new film Paddington bear is released very soon and by the time you read this it might already be out for public release however all the Royal parks have got in on the act and have had 5 statues of Paddington specially designed by TV and sporting celebrities including David Beckham, Julie Walters and Hugh Bonneville – one of the stars of the film and they have hidden them in various places throughout the parks. The aim is to see if you can spot them all although we don’t know if there is a prize for those who do however there seems to be a slight error or perhaps someone in the Royal Parks knows something we don’t as Mr Beckham is addressed as Sir David Beckham!
Fancy finding out about Christmas traditions from years gone by? The head over to Kensington gardens where you can take part in a seasonal Christmas walk around the Park and find out about all the different traditions first introduced into the UK by Queen Victoria, things like why robins appear on Christmas cards and hw holly was protected by Kings and little snippets of interesting info like that – handy if you ever get asked the question in the local pub quiz! You could then warm up and visit one of our beautiful Kensington escorts who live nearby which will really get the blood back into all your extremities!
On Christmas day, if you want to get out of the house or hotel then a visit to the Serpentine in Hyde park should be on the agenda. Bright and early at 9am the swimmers from the serpentine swimming club will be out in force ready for the 100 yard race to compete for the Peter Pan Cup. Only members from the swimming club can compete so that is a great excuse not simply watch and not to have to take part! There are plenty of things to do in London, even some of the most obscure locations have events happening all the time, our team are on hand to have someone perfect for you to share each experience with – just give u a call.
